The Beginning...

I am not sure what I exactly mean by the title. I guess since its my first ever blog writing the title sums that up, but hopefully it will also be the beginning of some new adventure of life that takes me aways from whatever I feel now. I also hope the blog experience entices me to write again.

Ten years ago in January of 97 I was turning 40 years old. I had worked government and non-profits for years prior and needed a change of life then also. The day before my birthday I set out on a trip around America in a 79 VW bus, aptly named the Mothership. I had 1200 bucks in my pocket and a full tank of gas.

I ended up traveling two years and meeting so many people. I saw America at it's best and at times at its worse. Since then, and since retunring to my hometown in South Georgia I have owned a river outfitting business. That has been an adventure all in itself. I had not lived in the rural sought in many years prior to returning.

Another turning point in the Search for the beginning of wind came in 2002 when at the age of 45 I was diagnosed with one of the dreaded and mysterious incurrable diseases. I was told by 5 doctors standing around my bedside after a 20 day hosptial stay, that I had relapsing remitting MS.

Now I sit here at 50 and find myself wanting to travel the country again but am not sure I would have the strength even if I had the way or the means. I still believe in miracles though. Anyone of any age knows they happen. They may not readily admit it, but if you are over 30 and have lived life to any extent. You know!

At any rate...Here goes yet another blog.
